25 Trend rewind

As the year is slowly coming to an end, it’s time for Zalando’s Trend Spotter team to dive into the data and discover which trends have moved our more than 52M  customers most this year. Coming together in this year’s 2025 Trend Rewind, we present Europe’s top trends, powered by Zalando’s own data.

1. Mocha Mousse

There is no colour we have seen popping up more this year than mocha mousse. Be it on the runways, in our app or in our offices, mocha mousse is not only the colour that Pantone chose as colour of the year but definitely also our customers. It saw an increase of more than 5.000% in searches with its peak month already being in January. However, mocha mousse wasn't just a color, it’s a reminder of  "Life's little pleasure": slow mornings, warm coffee, and simple indulgences - warm, balanced, and beautifully human.

2. Butter Yellow

Butter yellow was already one of last year’s standout trend colors, and after cooling off a bit over winter, it made a full comeback by spring, reminding us why we fell for it in the first place. Butter Yellow peaked in May, however the trend continued throughout the year, fuelled by a certain mega star and her cozy, ultra-stylish Autumn looks featuring the colour. One thing’s for sure, in this color you’re giving full main character energy, even if your day job isn’t selling out arenas.

3. Beauty Devices

Sheet masks and jade rollers took a backseat as Beauty devices officially became the new status symbol in 2025: Sleek, LED-lit, and smarter than ever. From AI-powered skin scanners to microcurrent tools and at-home laser hair removal, these gadgets turned the bathrooms of our customers into mini spas this year with their peak being in October - just in time for cozy season.

4. Bag Charms

Already one of the biggest trends in 2024, bag charms carried their spotlight energy straight into 2025, and they didn’t disappoint. From little monster charms and colorful keychains to sleek metallic accents in silver or gold and silk scarves tied elegantly to the handle, 2025 was all about self-expression and making your favourite bag even more personal and unique with August being the month our customers were most interested in this trend.

5. Boho Chic

Boho Chic came spinning back into 2025. And no, it’s not the dusty festival look you’re picturing - In April when this trend peaked the festival season hadn’t even started. What began centuries ago with bohemian artists in France evolved into a smarter, softer kind of rebellion. The 2025 version borrowed its soul from the ’70s, its confidence from the 2000s, and its conscience from Gen Z. Jewelry got quieter, styling freer, and individuality became the ultimate luxury.

Trend Rewind is entirely based on data from Zalando’s Trend Spotter. The Zalando Trend Spotter is an AI-powered feature that analyses customer behavior, such as searches and product likes, across 10 major European cities to identify emerging fashion and lifestyle trends weekly.

It provides customers with a data-driven snapshot of what styles are gaining popularity, focusing on desire rather than sales, to offer inspiring and current product discovery.
