BERLIN, MARCH 5, 2019 // Zalando, Europe's leading online platform for fashion and lifestyle, extends its beauty category to Sweden, Denmark, France, Belgium and Italy within the next two months. Following a successful launch of Beauty on Zalando across Germany, Austria and Poland last year, Swedish and Danish customers can now shop beauty products starting today. France and Belgium will follow in late March, Italy in mid-April.
Zalando further expands its collaboration with The Estée Lauder Companies by adding eight prestige brands from their portfolio to the German beauty assortment. Moreover, several of The Estée Lauder Companies’ brands will be included in the roll-out of Beauty in the newly added markets.
"Our strong beauty assortment with more than 10,000 products from over 250 brands resonates well with customers in Germany, Austria and Poland, and we're excited to extend our beauty offering to more European customers. Our collaboration with The Estée Lauder Companies helps bring more prestige beauty brand favourites to our Zalando customers," says Pamela Wade-Lehman, Head of Beauty at Zalando SE. To further establish itself as the go-to destination for fashion and lifestyle in Europe, Zalando will launch new brands including Aramis, Bumble and bumble, Darphin, GLAMGLOW, Smashbox, and Bobbi Brown in Germany. New markets will have unique and tailored offerings.
“We are delighted to continue our partnership with Zalando, further expanding our consumer reach with millennials,” says Eric Daugan, Vice President, Digital Commerce & Marketing, EMEA, The Estée Lauder Companies. “Our collaboration is helping to bring even more consumers into the growing prestige beauty category.”
“With Beauty, we want to empower our broad customer base to complete their style choices with the latest in global beauty trends including natural, Korean and science-driven brands. We see that three out of five customers buy fashion products when shopping beauty, underlining that these offers go hand in hand,” continues Pamela Wade-Lehmann.
Zalando first launched the beauty category for women in Germany in March 2018, expanding it with products for men in October 2018, and launching Beauty in Poland and Austria at the end of the year. Furthermore, the Zalando Beauty Station in Berlin Mitte showcases a curated range of beauty items, providing customers with tangible product experiences, tutorials and expert beauty advice, and serving as an exciting test platform for launches.
