Berlin, September 18th 2017 // Zalando has set up a dedicated platform to integrate startups offering solutions and functionalities to personalize the customer's shopping experience and to boost inspiration. This includes solutions in the areas of sizing & fitting, styles & outfits or inspirational content.

Within the latter category a first partner has come on board. The Israeli startup Bllush connects social media images of top influencers to the online shop – the Zalando Fashion Store. All of the images are shoppable, with links to purchase similar items from Zalando. The functionality will be first tested within the Sports category of the German Fashion Store. Further partners and local Fashion Stores are expected to be integrated and tested in the upcoming months.

“Creating a better customer journey means providing a more inspiring and personalized fashion experience. With Zalando Build, we will partner up with the fashion ecosystem by integrating startup solutions and innovations into the Zalando Fashion Store”, said Marc Lamik, Head of Partnerships at Zalando. “We are glad to have our first partner on board and are looking forward to further successful partnerships.”

Lamik also emphasized the importance of Zalando Build within the platform strategy of Zalando: “We aim to connect all players in the fashion industry. Our Zalando Build partners will get the opportunity to integrate their content or experiences in the Zalando Fashion Store and reach millions of consumers across Europe. Startups can leverage our size and market reach, while cooperating with startups gives us the possibility to implement new products and services much faster and try out new things.”
