Zalando now offers pre-owned kids' fashion in 14 European markets

BERLIN, 25 February 2026 // Zalando is expanding its Pre-owned category to include children’s fashion. Parents in 14 European markets can now shop for quality-checked, second-hand kids’ clothing – and trade in outgrown items for Zalando credit. This launch supports the evolution of our Kids category into a holistic family destination, serving parents and caregivers from their child’s infancy through to the teenage years.

Our offer works on a C2B2C model that allows customers to buy like-new products and sell back children’s clothing to us directly. Parents can trade in like-new or gently worn kids’ clothes bought on Zalando for a gift voucher valid for any future purchase, including Pre-owned. It is a simple process backed by our signature convenience in shipping, payment and free returns, with no photos or postage fees required. Our in-house team quality-checks every product before listing to ensure that good-as-new products meet high quality standards.

The timing fits a clear trend. Sales of our adult Pre-owned fashion have doubled in recent years, driven by a demand for high-quality finds. Customers are responding positively to the curated assortment, with up to 50% of Pre-owned items selling within the first 24 hours of going live. For premium brands, that figure climbs to 90%. The move is also a direct response to how modern families actually shop. In 2025, over 40% of our orders were mixed baskets, where customers purchased Pre-owned items alongside new Fashion or Beauty products in a single checkout.
