Logistics represents a central area within Zalando. In recent years, we have developed it into a core competence with our European logistics network, consisting of four German sites in Brandenburg, Thuringia, North Rhine Westphalia and Baden-Wuerttemberg as well as a smaller site in Northern Italy. Two further international sites in Poland and France will start operations this year. The high level of commitment shown by our staff and our providers is key to our business model and ensures that, on a day-to-day basis, our customers across 15 European markets receive their packages quickly and reliably. There is intense competition for good personnel, and Zalando must meet high standards in order to remain attractive to both potential applicants and its existing workforce.
For this reason, we are making every endeavor to optimize working conditions and remuneration models while at the same time exceeding social standards expected of us. We also want to fulfil this demand for our provider-driven fulfillment centers. After all, it is only by having a strong, motivated and dedicated team that we will be able to operate and build on our logistics processes in the future. Over the next few pages, we would like to give you the opportunity to find out more about logistics at Zalando.
