Last Thursday, Zalando officially launched its new satellite warehouse in Moissy-Cramayel, 30km south of Paris. We celebrated together with Arvato, our local logistics provider who specialises in international supply chain and e-commerce, and numerous guests such as media and politicians. After the opening speech held by Line Magne, Mayor of Moissy-Cramayel, David Schröder, SVP Operations Zalando, Delphine Mousseau, VP Markets Zalando, Peter Buse, COO Arvato SCM Solutions and Emeric Crepin CEO Arvato France SCM Solutions, participated in a panel discussion and engaged with the audience on a set of topics from logistics, to our presence in France. In order to keep the logistics and start-up feeling intact, the event took place in the middle of the warehouse. Picture proof:
French touch, you said?
This new satellite warehouse is Zalando ‘je ne sais quoi’ to seduce the French consumers by offering them an even better shopping experience. The 20,000 square meters of logistics space will cater to the needs of Zalando French customers and fulfill the increasing demands of one of the biggest fashion markets in Europe. In addition to reducing delivery times, the new fulfilment center will enable a more efficient management of the distribution chain in France. In the future, it could also facilitate the testing of new services.
In the last months, Zalando announced the expansion of its European logistics network with new locations in Sweden, Poland and this one in France, after successfully launching a new satellite warehouse in Italy (Stradella) in 2015. By opening this new satellite warehouse, Zalando will further improve its already strong proposition, thus being able to provide its French customers with an even more efficient and reliable service. Stay tuned!
